I recently changed my email signature to say, ‘Not an agent, a REALTOR’.
Before I got my real estate license, I often heard people use the names “Realtor” and “real estate agent” interchangeably. But did you know that not all agents are Realtors? Nope. In fact, in 2015, there were about 2million real estate agents and about 1million Realtors. So, what’s the difference?
Both “agents” and “realtors” are licensed professionals, but a Realtor is an agent that is a member of the National Association of Realtors (NAR). Being a Relator means you have access a wealth of statistical information about markets and sales, all of which can be used to your advantage during the home buying or selling process. We invest in a variety of tools and partnerships that help us know what your home is worth, what the market is telling us and how we can navigate around all of it to represent our clients in the most professional way possible.
